Project Gutenberg has more than twenty thousand titles available in plain text, and there are as many as hundreds of other websites. Most of these books are publicly available or are under the copyright system were published by Creative Commons. This system allows the user to download and use books that protect the rights or the rights of the author and the author would like to reserve. I spent a few links below to start to, but it is not hard to do after you get the hang of it too.
Put the words, free e-books for free online in a good browser (eg Yahoo ummm) And you should be more sites that you can explore in a single session.

Try demonoid.com, if you need someone to enter your invitation code
In my opinion, is the best Project Gutenberg:
http://www.gutenberg.org/catalog/
Remember that books are free classics - New works are still protected by copyright and illegal downloading is free.
